I recently moved back to Michigan, after living in NYC for the last 7 years, and I’m pretty picky about where I get my hair cut. I’m a dude, but have slightly thin, very straight asian hair, and I’ve had my fair share of bad haircuts from folks who don’t style hair like that on guys too often. Thank God I found Frais Hair!
I had been growing out my hair for the last 18 months or so, just because, and it was pretty long. There’s only two places in Manhattan I would allow to touch my hair, and unfortunately I didn’t get to either of them before I left. To make a long story short, I got to the salon slightly early, where my appointed stylist, Joann, gave me a style book to look through. When she was ready for my appointment, we talked briefly over what I wanted, and she made a small recommendation, and after deciding on something, she cut my hair…
The haircut was exactly what I asked for, and it turned out great – you can tell they cut asian hair here for real – they understand what to do with it, and they know how to style it. As long as I’m in town, I won’t be getting a haircut anywhere else in Metro Detroit. I highly recommend this place.
I don’t know if they take walk-ins…so I would definitely call ahead and schedule an appointment, which is generally what you SHOULD do anyway, when getting a haircut :)
